Meet AIKO! I am a 17 year old Miniature American Eskimo. I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 19, 1991. I have travelled extensively throughout the U.S. and I always take my owner with me because she has learned how to behave in the car! I enjoy meeting new people and moonlit walks along the beach.
Things I Have Learned from Humans: I have learned that most people are willing to return my unconditional love. I sometimes make mistakes but am always forgiven. I have also found that when I pretend to give my Mom a sad and pathetic look, I can get away with anything.
Things My Owner Has Learned from Me: My Mom has learned the art of patience - and believe me - at times, I have tested hers. She knows that my misdeeds are not intentional and I will always be there for her when she needs a friend.
Favorite Trick: Due to my age, I have retired from doing tricks on command, however, there is one that I will still do: I know how to make treats disappear. If you put a treat in front of me, you will never see it again! I have perfected it over the years, and I am always happy to perform it!
Favorite Treat: I love beef jerkey and a warm bowl of milk before bed. It's lactose free, of course, and approved by my doctor.
Make No Bones About It...I Am a Great Therapy Dog Because: When I visit people I can make them smile and brighten their day. Sometimes they don't have any other visitors and I've found that with my love and some kind words by my owner, we have given hope to someone who seems to have had none - and made their day a little better!
My Favorite Places to Visit: Edinboro Manor, The Sarah Reed Retirement Center, AseraCare Hospice, Parkside at North East. My volunteer handler is named Ellie.
