Meet HUNTER!  I am a 4 year old Doberman.  I work in a number of school programs that introduce responsible dog ownership to students.  I excel when making visits to nursing homes, schools, homeless shelters -- anywhere I can go to bring joy to someone's life.

Things I Have Learned from Humans:  Trust. Manners.  How to be a canine good citizen.  That you cannot always have everything that you want.  There are rules, boundaries, and limitations in the human pack.  That I should not jump on mom to get attention.  That humans sometimes say one thing, and mean another.  That I should not eat the "fur" off of Mom's new leather coat.  That I should not destroy my soft toys just to remove the evil squeeker.

Things My Owner Has Learned from Me:  Run, romp, and play daily. Take naps and stretch before rising. Never pretend to be something you are not. Regardless of how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.  Delight in the simple joys of a long walk. When someone is having a bad day be quiet, sit close, and give hugs.  Forgive quickly. When a loved one comes home, run to greet them. Leadership is a position of respect that my dog allows me to hold - provided I earn it!  My owner has also learned the power of unconditional love and loyalty, and most importantly: how to be a much better person - and how to live life to its fullest.

Favorite Trick:   I can catch food thrown to me, and I am working on learning new tricks.
Favorite Treat:  String cheese - although my Mom hasn't found anything that I dislike!

Make No Bones About It...I Am a Great Therapy Dog Because:  I am a gentle giant who loves petting, hugs & making my human pack feel good. I am very social and love interacting with people. I am calm, tolerant, and friendly - and, I am good around other dogs!

My Favorite Places to Visit:  Edinboro Manor, Erie Independence House, Community Shelter Services, Forestview at Springhill, Parkside at North East, Pleasant Ridge Manor Girard.  My volunteer handler is named Marge.
