Meet MOLLY - I’m a two year old Cairn terrier. My breed originated in the Highlands of Scotland and my descendants were bred to catch all varieties of rodents and small mammals. That is why I love nothing better than to chase moles and to dig. In fact sometimes all that can be seen of me is my tail poking out of a hole in the back yard! I also love the water and particularly enjoy chasing the sprinkler on a hot summers day. Even though I only weigh 11 ½ pounds I can assure you I am all dog.
Things I Have Learned from Humans: That chase is fun and there’s a treat for every occasion.
Things My Owner Has Learned from Me: All relationships need a lot of work, patience and trust. As a result you have a friendship full of fun, laughter, love and adventure. That’s why when we work together we are a true team and have each others’ undivided attention.
Favorite Trick: Flattening myself like a pancake to go under the couch when I need quiet time. I also like to bury my bones, squeaky toys and anything else I value in the backyard and guard them. This is so that my sister, Riley, she’s a therapy dog too, can’t find them.
Favorite Treat: Playing with my little green tennis ball.
Make No Bones About It...I Am a Great Therapy Dog Because... My small size doesn’t reflect the size of my heart. I love people and particularly enjoy going to work with my owner to visit the elder Sisters at the monastery. I am great fun and and very playful, yet when I’m with someone who can’t get around so well I am gentle and patient.
My Favorite Place to Visit: Mount St. Benedict Monastery. My volunteer handler is named Jo.
