Meet SAVANNAH! I am named after the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia. I was born in Maryland, grew up outside of Philadelphia (Valley Forge National Park was one of my favorites) and now I live in Erie, which is really neat because I get to visit Presque Isle and live in a neighborhood where everyone has dogs, walks their dogs and loves dogs. I'm in heaven!!!
Things I Have Learned from Humans: Cars take you to great places (parks, lakes, streams, beaches, visiting friends and relatives, and McDonald's); and special places in Erie like the Erie Independence House, Borders Books, Sunrise Assisted Living, The Sarah Reed Retirement Center and Petco (lots of good smells there!)
Things My Owner Has Learned from Me: I can tell time! So, no sleeping late when there are walks to take in the woods which are good for the body and the spirit. I can read my Moms mind! "It's a bit scary," she says... And, I am a working dog, that's my breed, so I need a job!
Favorite Trick: Shaking paw, and looking cute! I can't help that, I was born under a lucky star.
Favorite Treat: I'm not picky, I love them all. That is, anything out of a box, bag, can or just something smelly in the woods.
Make No Bones About It...I Am a Great Therapy Dog Because... I am a Swiss working dog and I need to connect with people and have fun to feel fulfilled!
My Favorite Places to Visit: Erie Independence House, Borders Books, Sunrise Assisted Living, The Sarah Reed Retirement Center. My volunteer handler is named Diana.
