Meet ZENA! (The Warrior Princess) I am a 5 year old loveable German Pinscher. My Mom takes me walking every day and I love running in the school yard where my Dad grew up. She still gives me lessons once a week so that I continue to be a responsible companion. I love travelling, boating and just cuddling with my Mom and Dad. I'm not a lap dog, but I try to be!
Things I Have Learned from Humans: I have learned that my parents provide safety, comfort, and have educated me to be a loving, loyal companion. They have become my guardian, protector, guide, and caregiver. I have rules to follow and I know I cannot overstep my boundaries. I love to socialize with people and other dogs and I love all the attention I can get!
Things My Owner Has Learned from Me: I love to be around them 24/7. I am full of energy and need my exercise daily. This has formed a bond between us because it involves communication and interaction - and they know I have learned patience, honesty, and trust from my training and exercise. They know that I am very smart but can be hard headed at times.
Favorite Trick: I'm not really into tricks, but I know my commands. I jump into bed before Mom and sleep on her pillow, but I always move when she comes in.
Favorite Treat: Green beans, baby carrots, and Greenies.
Make No Bones About It...I Am a Great Therapy Dog Because: I am full of compassion and can sense when I need to console people. My Grandpa was in a nursing home for four years and I know I always brought joy to him and his buddies when I came to visit. I'm a social butterfly and love people!
My Favorite Places to Visit: Erie Independence House, Sunrise at Presque Isle Bay, PAAWE, Erie Homes for Children and Adults, Stairways Behavioral Health, Forestview at Springhill. My volunteer handler is named Barb.
