My name is Murray's Belle of Hydetown, but my friends just call me Belle. I am a three year old ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who has been a therapy dog for two years. I was rescued from a Pennsylvania Amish puppy mill by an Ohio rescue/adoption agency. Weighing about sixteen pounds, I am full of love and affection!
Things I Learned from Humans: Because my owner rescued me, I have learned to trust again and to find love and joy in the humans around me. And I have learned that joy is contagious - it can be shared one wag at a time!
Things My Owner Learned from Me: She has learned to always greet loved ones with joy and kisses when she hasn't seen them for a while. She has learned to find time to play every day. My owner has learned to dance around and wag her entire body when she's happy. And she has learned loyalty from me. When someone is having a really bad day, she knows how be very quiet, sit close by and nuzzle them softly. But most importantly, she has learned that if what you want is buried, dig deep until you find it. And my owner tells me every day that she didn't rescue me - I rescued her.
Favorite Trick: I love to jump and spin when I am so excited I can't stand it.
Favorite Treat: My favorite treat isn't food - it is spending time with the people that I love and who love me!
Make no bones about it - I am a great therapy dog because: I love everyone I meet unconditionally.
My volunteer handler is named Cyndi.
