Meet Maji!

I am a Kerry BlueTerrier. A lot of people think I am a poodle because they have never seen one of my breed; however, we are very popular in Ireland where we are sometimes used as police dogs. I have beautiful blue gray hair which never sheds and is hypoallergenic. My name Maji means "water" in Swahili. I have two cats, Simba and Twiga. I love to play with them and lick their faces. My family rescued me from a home with way too many animals. I weighed less half of what I should weigh and I am still skinny at about 20 pounds, I am mostly hair.

Things I Have Learned from Humans:  I have learned doggy manners like not to jump on people no matter how glad you are to see them. I have learned never to steal food from the cats even if it is tasty. But most of all; I have learned that nothing is impossible if you get a good enough treat.

Things My Owner Has Learned from Me:  Everything.  My humans have learned many things from me like how simple things in life can bring great happiness (going for just a little walk can make your whole day). Most humans learn quickly if you just use the right techniques.

Favorite Trick:  Jumping!  I love to jump through hula hoops or over jumps at the agility course - but never jump on people.

Favorite Treat:  Going to the dog park; and then if I am very good and sit very pretty and am very patient, sometimes Janice will give me a dog treat. I especially like the little fishes. Otherwise, I like almost anything edible (even sneaking cat food).

Make No Bones About It...I Am a Great Therapy Dog Because:  I seem to know when people need some love. My Aunt Denise says I have always been a therapy dog because I make my Mom so happy. I even make little noises to say “God Bless You” when she sneezes. My vet says I am a beautiful dog both inside and outside.

My Favorite Places to Visit:  Edinboro Manor and Edinboro University. My volunteer handler is named Diane.
