Hey!! My name is Maverick and I was a Christmas gift to the family a few years ago. I think that I am a white standard poodle - but for some reason, my family calls me a rooster. So, maybe I'm a rooster - I'm not sure? I know I have lots of white hair. Anyway, when I found out my sister Macy was a therapy dog and wore that cool blue vest, I knew I had to have one! Some of my favorite things to do are to run around outside with Macy, go for a walk with Dad early in the morning (because he lets me hold my own leash!) and take a ride in the car!!
Things I Have Learned from Humans: I've learned that if you rest your head just right you will get a treat! I have also learned that humans leave me home alone with my sister Macy during the day, and I'm not sure where they go, but it can't be that much fun because they come home so excited to see me!!
Things My Owner Has Learned from Me: My owners have learned that life can be pretty simple if you let it be. All you have to do is sleep, eat, play and tell the ones that are close that you love them.
Favorite Trick: My favorite tricks are shaking paw and giving high fives! I give high fives all the time - when I'm lying down - high fives! When I'm standing up - high fives! Or when the Cleveland Indians score a run - high fives! HIGH FIVES ALL THE TIME!
Favorite Treat: I simply love potatoes! My Mom always makes sure that I get one when she is making dinner.
Make No Bones About It...I Am a Great Therapy Dog Because... I am a great snuggler and I love life. All I want to do is help others to love their life, too!!!
My Favorite Places to Visit: Sarah Reed Children's Center. My volunteer handlers are named Sandy and Anne.
