Meet Sarge!

In August 2009 I turned 19 months old. I'm a German Shepherd born in Jefferson, Ohio.  When I saw my parents for the first time as a pup, I ran and jumped in their arms and they knew I was the one!  I love people, kids and other animals - but most importantly, teaching my Dad new tricks!

Things I Have Learned from Humans:  To be patient, loving and understanding.  Also, to be playful and not to take things too seriously.

Things My Owner Learned from Me:  Total dedication to me.  To know when to play and to know when to take walks.  Also, my owners know how to keep me safe.

Favorite Trick:  Teaching humans how to play.  I don't fetch, but I do manage to get my humans to chase after me to get the ball or a stick.  It's fun watching adults and children running in circles.  When they get tired, I give them a ball or a stick.

Favorite Treat:  Popcorn and the occasional Dairy Queen ice cream cone with two dog bones in it!

Make No Bones About It...I Am a Great Therapy Dog Because... I love everybody.  I love attention, and I love to play.  But most of all - I love human contact.  I'm dedicated to making people happy.  Try me out - show me a little attention and watch me work my magic!

My Favorite Places to Visit:  Parkside at North East, North East Elementary, The Barber Center Senior Center.  My volunteer handler is named Dean.
