At Therapy Dogs United - we often refer to our M.D. Program as our "Doggie Howser, M.D. Dogs" - and for good reason! Our innovative and exclusive health care program is making significant inroads in the medical community, all thanks to the tireless efforts made by our certified therapy dog teams who work in collaboration with countless medical professionals.
In 2019, Therapy Dogs United expanded our Medical Dogs hospital visitation program to include most major hospitals in Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio.
This includes: UMPC Hamot, Allegheny Health Network, LECOM: Millcreek Community Hospital, VA Medical Center - Erie, Meadville Medical Center, Shriners Hospital for Children - Erie, UPMC Shadyside, UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC Seneca Place (Penn Hills); Buffalo Medical Center and UH Geneva Medical Center, Ohio.
Our certified therapy dog teams can be seen walking the halls at any one of these these hospitals every day of the week! Our certified therapy dog teams visit patients receiving chemotherapy, recuperating from an illness or injury, and even those waiting in an Emergency Room lobby. Our therapy dogs are always ready to be a friend to anyone in need. If you see one out in the community, make sure you stop and say hello!
